Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the hire of reusable crates and related equipment from Evergreen Crates("Evergreen Crates", "we", "us"). By placing a booking you agree to these terms.

1. Bookings

A booking is a request to hire crates and equipment. Your booking is confirmed only once we confirm availability and your delivery slot in writing (by email). Prices are as shown on our website at the time of booking and, unless stated otherwise, include delivery and collection within our standard service area.

2. Hire period

The standard hire period is 2 weeks, with a 4-week option available. The hire period begins on delivery and ends on collection. If you need to extend, please contact us; additional charges may apply.

3. Delivery & collection

We deliver and collect within a 30-mile radius of Sudbury. Deliveries and collections outside this area may incur a surcharge, which we will confirm before your booking is finalised. You (or someone on your behalf) must be available to receive delivery and to allow collection at the agreed times.

4. Care of the crates

You agree to:

• Use the crates and equipment only for their intended purpose (household/commercial moving);
• Not overload crates beyond 30kg each;
• Keep the crates clean and undamaged, and not write on, drill, or permanently mark them;
• Empty the crates ready for collection (no cleaning is required, we sanitise between hires);
• Keep the crates secure and not pass them to a third party.

5. Loss or damage

You are responsible for the crates and equipment while on hire. Crates or equipment that are lost, not returned, or damaged beyond normal wear may be charged at their replacement cost, which we will advise. Any deposit or damage-fee schedule will be made clear at the time of booking.

6. Payment

Payment terms will be confirmed with your booking. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.

7. Your right to cancel (consumers)

If you are a consumer, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you generally have the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Where you ask us to begin the service (deliver crates) within that period, you may still cancel but we may charge for the service already provided. To cancel, contact us at support@evergreencrates.co.uk. This does not affect your statutory rights.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for damage to your belongings arising from how they were packed. We recommend packing carefully and not overloading crates.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
