Crates built for storage — not flimsy cardboard
Cardboard boxes are made to be used once. In a storage unit, stacked and left for months, they sag, crush and let the damp in. Our crates are a different thing entirely.
Built to be stored
Rigid, heavy-duty crates that hold their shape under a full unit stacked on top. Cardboard sags, crushes and collapses in storage — ours simply don't.
Sealed & tamper-proof
Snap-on lids keep dust, damp and prying hands out. Storing valuables? Add numbered, tamper-evident security seals so a crate can't be opened without you knowing — something a taped cardboard box can never do.
Protects the fragile things
China, glass and valuables travel and sit safely — not squashed under the weight at the bottom of a soft box.
Stack higher, rent smaller
Because they're rigid and won't crush, crates stack safely floor to ceiling — so you use the whole unit and can often rent a smaller, cheaper one. Pile cardboard that high and the boxes at the bottom cave in.

Clean, sturdy crates and a dolly to your door. You pack at your own pace — you know your things best — and we never rush you.
We collect and record
We collect the full, sealed crates, note what's going where with a photo record, and load them carefully into the van.
We carry them into storage
We drive to your chosen self-storage unit or container and stack the sealed crates neatly inside. Nothing is unpacked, so your china and valuables aren't disturbed.
We bring it back when you're ready
Moving into your new home later? We collect it all from storage, deliver to your new place, and take the empty crates away.

Common questions
Can you move my belongings into my storage unit?
Yes — that's exactly what we do. We deliver crates, you pack them, then we collect and carry the sealed crates straight into your self-storage unit or container. The big storage chains won't carry your things in for you; we will.
Do I pack the crates, or do you?
You pack your own crates, at your own pace — you know your things best, and it keeps your possessions in your hands. We do all the lifting, moving and stacking.
Are the crates really sturdier than boxes for storage?
Much. They're rigid, heavy-duty and stackable, so they keep their shape under a full unit for months — where cardboard sags, crushes and lets in dust and damp. And because they stack safely floor to ceiling without caving in, you fit far more into the unit and can often rent a smaller, cheaper one. Secure lids keep everything sealed and protected the whole time.
Do the crates stay packed in storage, or do I unpack them?
They stay packed and sealed in your unit, so nothing is disturbed. You then hire the crates by the month or buy them outright, whichever suits how long you're storing.
Can I securely seal a crate of valuables?
Yes. As well as the snap-on lids, you can add numbered, tamper-evident security seals (a pack of 20 for £4) so a crate of jewellery, documents or treasured items can't be opened without breaking the seal — proper peace of mind for things going into storage.

Yes. Tell us where it is and we'll take everything there. If you haven't chosen a unit yet, we'll advise on the right size and point you to an easy-access facility.
How much does it cost?
Fully-managed from £395, tailored to your home, the distance and your storage. Crates then hire from £1/crate/month, or buy at £12 each. We give you a fixed quote up front — no surprises.
Do I need to be there for collection and delivery?
Someone needs to let us collect the full crates, and ideally be reachable on delivery day. We'll confirm all the details when we book you in.
Do you move furniture too?
We're a crate service, so we move what fits in crates — that keeps things quick, careful and affordable. For furniture, large items or clearing a whole property, our sister service Suffolk & Essex House Clearance handles the lot, and we can quote that while we're already there dropping off or collecting your crates.
